X-Factor's Jedward Hairstyle - a lasting trend?
Thu, 11/26/2009 - 09:58 | 2 comments

The twins known as Jedward definitely know how to grab people’s attention. For weeks the twins have split the nation. One thing is sure they didn’t stand out on the TV show X-Factor because of their talent in singing. Even if you haven’t watched this year’s X-Factor series, it was hard to miss out on knowing the two boys and noticing their attention seeking hairstyle. Those impressive trademark quiffs have been copied by many, even celebrities such as David Beckham, Gwen Stefani and a mock up of our very own Gordon Brown and Alistair Darling.
Looking at the boys’ upstanding hairdo you may wonder how much hair spray is involved? How much time does it take them to create this look, who came up with the idea, why do they do it…..? Some of these questions we may never find out. Although the two, John and Edward, may lack in talent, they have definitely been entertaining & hilarious. Their uniqueness (not just their hairstyle) pulled in millions of viewers and I am sure that these two guys will be remembered for some time as one of the star performers of this year’s X-Factor series.
| While Jedward got kicked out of the competition last week, they’ve definitely made a lasting impression. Check out the video below - these 2 girls try to win the hearts of online viewers by applying the same strategy as Jedward (can’t sing but big hair!). Will it be the singing or the eye-catching hair that will make the video stand out and win the Murray’s YouTube contest? Decide yourself and give your vote if you like them. |

Mullet - hot hairstyle for 2009
Sat, 06/06/2009 - 13:41 | 2 comments
I know, I know: when you here mullet you get goose bumps! But the mullet I am talking about is nothing like McGyver's or Kim Wilde's. This season mullet is getting an update!
Mullet "how to's":
The cut is pretty straight forward: your stylist should thin out hair at the top, leaving few longer sections falling over the shoulders. Make sure that your stylist uses a razor - this way the cut will last longer.
Styling: Mullet looks great when it's a bit messy so go for pomades and matt finish wax like TIGI Catwalk Catfight Texturizer.
Is it for you? Mullet works best for girls with fine, supple hair. (I deliberately say girls - men should stay away from this hairstyle!) Mullet suits best oval faces and long necks. Hair Craft recommends soft make-up to go with it - you don't want to look like you just escaped from the set of "Life on Mars" :)

Men's hair trends 2009 - Fringe
Wed, 10/29/2008 - 15:42 | 2 comments
Women's and men's fashion seems to go hand in hand, no surprise then that fringe will be a massive trend in 2009 men's hair styles! But don't worry guys - men's fringe comes in variety of lengths and shapes so you won't end up all looking like Kate Moss :)
The look:While the back end the sides stay neatly trimmed, the fringe should be longer, even eye-brow length. We like it best side swept, with layered detail.This textured hair style, with its longer fringe, is the 2009 incarnation of the 'Caesar cut', named after the hair style Roman dictator perpetuus Julius Caesar. To achieve this effect try using a matte wax or a pomade to create the rugged texture.

Men's Hair Trends 2009 - styles, colours, trends
Fri, 10/17/2008 - 15:26 | 2 comments
We have seen it all, let's face it. Every season designers are trying to reinvent the wheel but they won't full Hair Craft!
Last season we have witnessed revival of the 60's Rockabilly hairstyle. In 2009 it looks like we are going even further back in time: to 19th century Britain! What does it mean? Return of classic cut with modern influence.
Three big trends in men's hairstyles 2009 are:
1.fringe in variety of lengths and shapes;
2.side parting a la Carry Grant;
3.slick back - think George Clooney.
And for the daring - platinum blonde as a must-have colour!
In next few days I will go through men's hair trends for 2009 in detail so watch this space!
