I really like the idea of retro hairstyle - especially if it looks as great as this one! Miss VV Brown, musician from London, is a fantastic example of how to pull off a retro hairstyle without looking the mess (think Amy Winehouse!!!).
Retro hairstyle "how-to":
This hairstyle is Rockabilly with a modern twist - and with plenty of shine so remember to use your shine serum!
The right form is very important just as well - if you go straight, make it super straight, use that pink ghd! Don't be afraid of hairspray - retro hairstyles need hold.
Have a look at the video and decide yourself whether this is your Friday night hairdo!

Locks of Love

Locks of Love is a public non-profit organization that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children under age 18 suffering from long-term medical hair loss from any diagnosis. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. Most of the children helped by Locks of Love have lost their hair due to a medical condition called alopecia areata, which has no known cause or cure. The prostheses provided by Locks of Love help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
If you are thinking of chopping off your locks and going for a stylish bob or a pixie, donate your hair to a good cause! Locks of Love came up with few guidelines to help you access whether your hair will make a good hair piece:
• Hair that is colored or permed is acceptable.
• Hair cut years ago is usable if it has been stored in a ponytail or braid.
• Hair that has been bleached (usually this refers to highlighted hair) is not usable. If unsure, ask your stylist.
• Hair that is swept off of the floor is not usable.
• Hair that is shaved off and not in a ponytail or braid is not usable.
• Locks of Love cannot accept dreadlocks. Our manufacturer is not able to use them in our children’s hairpieces. We also cannot accept wigs, falls, hair extensions or synthetic hair.
• Layered hair is acceptable if the longest layer is 10 inches.
• Layered hair may be divided into multiple ponytails.
• Curly hair may be pulled straight to measure the minimum 10 inches.
• 10 inches measured tip to tip is the minimum length needed for a hairpiece.
• Please Note: Shorter hair will be separated from the ponytails and sold to offset the manufacturing costs. Although the shorter hair cannot be used in the hairpieces, it still greatly helps to reduce costs.
• Gray hair will be accepted and sold to offset the manufacturing costs.

I know what you may think: what summer? But keep in mind I started this article when the skies were blue and the temperature way above 20 - which was yesterday. And with hope for more days like that to come I will review the hottest summer hairstyle trends.

1. Boho plait - for long hair
plateThis hairstyle is perfect for a relaxed weekend in the sun! Distribute smoothing cream through damp hair, then blow-dry using a round brush. Make a deep side part. Take three sections from the part area and French braid across your hairline (leave some strands out near the front to weave in). Secure with an elastic. Keep your unbraided hair bouncy with a curl-enhancing spray.

2. Sleek and simple - mid length
Kate BosworthThis hairstyle is a great way of combining low maintenance and style! Perfect for office or dinner in posh restaurant. Use straightening serum and blow dry your hair. Always remember to protect your hair against heat damage as key to this hairstyle is smoothness; no frizz ladies!!!

3. Short hair
Sienna MillerThe short hair is very in! If you are not ready to crop your hair really short, try leaving some longer layers for softer, more romantic look. Style your hair with texturing gum for extra messy finish.
During the extra hot days protect your short hair, especially sensitive to the damage caused by UV rays, by applying UV protection like Lanza Sun Daily UV Protector.

With Glastonbury only a couple days away, festival season is officially open! But everyone knows that festivals nowadays are not only about music. Fashion magazines are full of advice of what to wear and how to wear it during oncoming music fests - and rightly so, considering that 1/3 of girls going to a music festival will buy a new wardrobe for the event!
So if you are planning on going to Glasto or any other fashion show…hm…I meant festival, why not getting a festival hairstyle?! Below you’ll find a few suggestions for every type of hair!

1. Glasto style for long and mid length hair.
Long, messy hair goes with festivals like...well, it goes really well. Let your hair dry naturally: forget about hair-dryer and your pink GHD! Don't even brush your hair unless it's absolutely necessary - and you'll be a boho chic in no time!

2. Festival style for short hair.

Short hair is a great idea for a festival: you don't have to brush it, it may easily go without washing for a few days and if anything a bit of dirt may help you style it!

3. Festival up-dos.
This may be the safest option: bun combined with sturdy braid will not only give you the so much desired hippy look but it will survive sun, rain and mud!

Dave GrohlIs this the best haircut in "Rock" category, or what? Beard, long, layered, wavy hair...For all the guys out there, wondering what to do with their hair, how to look cool etc - here is the answer: go for Grohl!
(Mind you, my taste when it comes to men's hairstyles is distorted - the effect of everlong relationship with a certain hairy fellow...and Foo Fighters concert :))!

If you hear about crazy outfits, funky hairstyles and shoe fetish, there is one name that comes to mind - Carry Bradshaw aka Sarah Jessica Parker. Fans of "Sex and the City" will agree that the series have inspired many fashion trends and Carrie became our style icon. And look at the hair on this girl!!!
I loved all (well, almost all) Carrie's hairstyles: updos and sleek pony tails, crazy untamed curls as well as romantic "undone" waves. And it is the wavy hair that Sarah was sporting during the SATC party as well as "Sex in the City - the movie". Similar hairdo, but how different!

Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw
Carrie Bradshow's hairstyle "how to": This is effortless, day-on-the-beach style - perfect summer hairstyle! Spritz wave spray onto wet hair and let air-dry. To give hair a little extra wave, braid sections of hair while it's still wet and remove when dry. Smaller braids yield tighter waves. Don't worry about excess frizz—this look is meant to have that carefree appeal to it.

Sarah Jessica ParkerSarah Jessica Parker's hairstyle "how to":These sexy waves are very glam: think about evening outing, party... This style works well on hair with natural wave or texture to it. To style, let hair air-dry halfway, then finish drying with a rough blow-dry. Smooth with a paddle brush, then use a 1-1/2 inch curling iron to create the waves. Wrap small sections of hair around the barrel, holding it vertically. Repeat around the entire head and set with a light hairspray. An undone, slightly crooked part adds to the playfulness and ease of this look.

Which style do you prefer? Messy or polished? Comments welcomed!
